PITA 073
How are you working now? How is your organisation dealing with the challenges around adopting AI tools?
Companies struggling with AI. - We need to use it! Now what?
Company exited their CPO because they decided they just needed to use AI. But for why? What are we solving with this?
Companies jumping on the bandwagon - also the Metas and Googles, just firing people. And startups, that pivot at pace - no tech stack attachment, thinking differently
For the enterprise I work with, get them to think like a startup. Grab one group and try it.
It’s not the ability to adopt AI, it’s the ability to change mindset
Where is the human in the loop?
Where is this going? And how do we move to that state? Most companies miss this. They’re missing an anchor, a strategy - and even if they have it, missing alignment and buy-in. Then a conversation with leaders and teams about where they are and how to progress on the maturity
Running to stand still - do you have something at the core of your product that is a defensible moat/differentiator/value engine? If you’re just chasing competition, you’re going to be rebuilding to stay at par - never get ahead.
If your maturity is in a good place, you won’t get caught up in the hype
What level of automation is possible? It’s critical to understand this - the problem and the tech, as well as an understanding of the opportunity space, and the expectations of what our approach will achieve. I use a Cynefin-based model - one of the critical aspects is figuring out where we need the human in the loop for decisions.
None of this is a substitute for judgement - creating efficiency is a byproduct, but a good north star will ensure that quality does not suffer
